Owner Mary Liz Lehman recognized the need for a local boutique carrying a discerning selection of mid to high end shoes and boots offering style, comfort and function in a beautifully decorated and welcoming environment. Having traveled extensively for work and for fun, Mary Liz appreciates the emergence of smart design in fashion such as sachetto construction in work pumps by designer Anyi Lu or 100% waterproof suede riding boots by La Canadienne. The boutique evolved quickly to include everything you’d find in a dream closet.

The story behind the name starts with a heroine from Mary Liz’s childhood. Growing up, her Mom, Betts, would say goodnight with “To Sleep, to Sleep, PERCHANCE to dream” (Shakespeare). Betts was an entrepreneur herself and has been one of Mary Liz’s sources of inspiration. She believes that women are uniquely talented, capable of overcoming adversity and poised to pursue any dream. Mary Liz credits her Mom with why she has never settled professionally or personally. Giving up corporate America to pursue her own dream and passions, Mary Liz opened PERCHANCE Boutique in October 2007.

PERCHANCE is intended to be a tribute to the modern woman who wants it all – today’s chic styles and yesterday’s craftsmanship, feminine designs and smart technology, genuine service and within reach.
